You didn't mention what client (and version of the client) you were using. This isn't something that is typically seen with the standard client.

Sorry but the Client of what? Of the Autohaven.jar file that you download from the website? It doesn't seem like this game uses a client and the process of making it run is opening it with javaws?
If that's the client and what you're referring to, when I hover my mouse over it. It says: File Version 11.211.2.12 and the error I'm getting is:

Just did this and when I did it a command window appears for a split second then immediately disappears. any idea what that could mean? Don't know if I can get a screenshot in fast enough before it closes but I'll try

I was specifically looking if you were running a modded client.

Try searching your hard drive for "his_err_pid.log." This should be generated when Java terminates an app. Typically, this should be in the directory tree Java is installed in, but can be redirected by an app creator.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Open up up Notepad, select code, paste - save as autohaven.bat in same folder as autohaven.jar - make sure not to save it as bat.txt

Code: Select all
start javaw -Xss1024k -Xms512m -Xmx1024m -jar autohaven.jar
pause

run by doubleclicking

this shows you the cmd window - pause let it stay open - prolly it doesn't help with the problem but it shows you what happens with it

If there's some error messages shown - cmd window topbar right clicking -> edit (to mark, copy and paste here in code tags)

Also you might look at your Windows Useraccount AppData Folders - prolly Roaming - look for a folder named Haven Launcher - inside is the cache folder which stores the default client ...
