That depends: in case they would do Darkness (which I would really like) it could -while emitting visible light- not count as a light as it's a decorative item per definition.
Equipping it in that scenario would be counter-productive by fooling you into thinking you're lit.

So you're saying that every time you take the same hat out of the fire, you get the LP for it? Your character "forgets" that they discovered that particular hat and discoveries? You can confirm this? That there does sound like a bug. From what I was reading from everyone else, it is only a one time thing, but maybe you're right. I don't screw with hats, so I can't confirm or debunk this bug.

Yes. They will be "naturally lit" ie not dark like caves are supposed to be. You're the one that posted

At this point, caves won't be dark, or at least there has been no indication of this. I don't think loftar is in position to code this into the server yet as it's not a trivial addition (assuming they even want to add it). It has only come up in the cave darkness discussion in C&I that I know of.

This is the Bugs discussion area. Don't draw improbable conclusions from things being said. If you have evidence of a bug, great, but wild speculation based on nothing just confuses the conversation. (I didn't see anything in the w11 devstream indicating it, but maybe I missed it if it was brought up.)

No, there is no such thing going on. The only thing going on is that you get 87 LP per hat on your account by just taking them out of your HF (which can add up to quite a lot pretty quickly).
