Maybe we should really try something like this, as we (that includes you) should have learned empirically by now that not capping stuff relieably leads to a good amount of the posts in viewtopic.php?f=40&t=57497
Basically every single person who posts in that thread whining about how they can't catch up because qualities are too high are mentally challenged invalids that don't even know how the game operates at a base level and incapable of grasping the concept that they COULD in fact catch up if they put in 3 mili-fucks of effort.
Edit - And I swear to fuck if you bring up the ~poor hermits~ who can't catch up, I might lose all respect for you. If you want to argue that solo hermits with no interaction whatsoever with the outside world should be able to catch up, then we should just have 1 month worlds.

I can attest that with the right motivation, a solo player can stay up with the factions. It takes all day and truly nolifing it, though. (You thought people playing 4 hrs a day was bad, try someone playing 12-16 cause they don't have a job or school.)

I mean, most very advanced players have nolifed at some point. That's just how it is with most MMOs-- the ones who play the most are the strongest.

Problem is that you currently have to no life constantly, given how the quality grow mechanics are working. You can't really take a break on crops, trees or lifestock without falling behind permanently.

Would be nicer if the players that currently play the most could be the strongest, not the ones who accumulated the most time (spent on a regular basis) since the beginning of the world.

Minus mining industry, that is un-true. If You know bad times are coming, You can prepare yourself so much, that building up Q of everything beside metal take less than hour. No one tells You to plant 50 tiles of everything to harvest, just to push Q You are good as few tiles just to keep stuff rolling. So yes, You can take a break on crops, trees and lifestock with preparations. You only fall behind with metal permanently, if You're the topq player ONLY.

Even with only a few tiles/trees/animals (a bit less for the latter) you have to cycle them daily.
That's also a form of no life, as it's incompatible with taking a normal healthy vacation (at least for the amount of paid holidays we get in the civilized countries) - regardless how much you no life afterwards you'll have fallen back and are unable to undo that. More extreme version applies to starting late.

And that perspective (even when it's only the perception of it) makes 'fresh world' the only viable option for many.
