Quite possibly, i tried it with a bear at the same location and the bear seemed to be able to figure out how to get out after bouncing off a border a few times, perhaps the moose's mighty speed is what locks it into this predicament.

Or size of its bounding box to detect collisions with the land.

Happened to me with a bear, if i stood at a specific angle it'd just keep following me into the deep water
was kinda terrifying when a raging bear suddenly seems to start ignoring deep water
