I found salt on l3 like 2 weeks ago and it had 5 salt in it. Very clearly no one had ever been there before. So if it works in a way that they dont get resources before they're seen, it doesnt always work.

All of the regional resources I have in my mine have always been empty upon discovery.

I can confirm that I am the only one that has access to them, as all cavesystems have been explored and there's only one entrance through my mineholes right now.

Seems to be exactly as was stated earlier - some regionals only start producing resources after they've been found for the first time.

It seems salt and brimstone (maybe something else) started together with the world, while guano, foul smokes (and maybe something else like notes) start to accumulate only upon discovery. HnH consistency as usual. :)

We had this issue on some things on the lower level. We consider it to be something along these lines.

Level 1 was all started at the begining of the world.

When someone entered level 2 all resources on that level started. Same for 3 etc

I would assume this would be to save on severload for as long as possible or that they are 100% random placement and as the lowet levels had just be entered then they where spawned.

I don't think this is the norm. As people have been on lvl 5 for probably months and the guano pile I just found won't spawn anything for 5 weeks still. Must be on discovery.

On another note, 5 WEEKS!?! Just kill me already.

If it is a newly spawned resource they will spawn empty just like all the others from day 1

Except, apparently, for lower valued localized resources like brimstone. The one I found on lvl 5 had 10 in it already. The only other option is that it is completely random. As some cave organs I found have 1 or 2 already in them.
