Palisade won't build/can't be extended further

Our claim has a palisade that only extended to a 51-wood block building material limit.

We had the same thing happen....Here was the fix.

Where its stops letting you build...Dig that square with a shovel.
After that resurvey the land flat.

Bam!, can continue on with the wall....

So I finally got round to getting the materials for my palisade, but lo and behold, the damn thing only extends a certain amount and won't extend any further after that.
How much of a priority is it to fix this? Because with people having thieving skills so soon, I'd feel a hell of a lot more secure with my palisade up to protect my shit while I'm asleep.

It must also be noted that you can only extend a palisade a maximum of 17 tiles in one signpost

Same problem here, on the both ends of the palisade. Can't extend, tried the digging trick, didn't work. Any other workarounds you guys have tried?

building a cornerpost is the best known workaround

But its an ugly workaround xD And one that I won't be able to change anytime soon (Doubt I would be building a ram to destroy my own palisade )
