I don't think charter is designed for solo-branch-fence-noob. It's not a coincidence that you need to build a village first. This is managable by small group of causal players, maybe friends, who don't care about macrogame. Few people, a miner, a farmer, you know, i lived in such villages when i first started to play hnh. They can gather resources to build a charter, but i'm pretty sure they will not like to grind stats to be able to use it.

i mean if you want to prevent outlawed people from escaping why not add a mechanic like: once the village shield gets a point of dmg the charterstone inside the village can only be used to port in. Not to port out. Then people would be able to help and the people attacking can still get what they want.

What has the shield to do with outlawed people?

Currently you can traverse the world in something about 4-5 hours, that should be quick enough to come to the rescue...

I mean what is the reason outlawed people cant port with charterstones? probably that they cant escape easily when they get sieged. Would be pain in the ass to siege a village full of outlawed characters and they just port away via charterstone. Thats why i mentioned the shield.

Red handed debuff preventing charter stone use would be ok. Outlaw is ridiculous.

I am especially annoyed that this mechanic wasn't announced at world start because our whole village concept this world was to split up in a few groups, make charter stones and that way cover more ground. If this was announced at the beginning, we would have went for the normal village layout/grouping.

I thought I remember hearing about charterstones not being able to build underground? This type of lvl 5 HV shit is already patched, why go overboard and ruin the whole system ? :/

I think devs are out of touch with the way game actually is if they want to make it inaccessible to outlaw debuff chars because in my experience, I spend almost entire last world with outlaw debuff and most of my village too, at some point you just stop giving a crap when you have to deal with constant alt spam.

This is like a feature for non-pvpers and crafters alone, whats the point of discriminating? PvP is what makes the game fun and not all murders are "bad" and deserving of "outlaw" punishment.

With regards to charisma cost, perhaps it could affect how quickly you regenerate travel weariness, assuming that you need to use beds and not insta-fixes like wine. That way a higher charisma character could travel more frequently, but a low charisma character might have to wait a day (or a few) but would still be able to make the trips?

Sheep, while you might feel mighty applying PvP to more or (most likely) less willing opponents you might overlook that not everyone shares your conviction.

And given the statistics from last world my educated guess is that PvP is responsible for >50% of the accounts that went away over the few months. Some deterrent to slaughtering all that moves is in order. So in case that drives one PvP player away in time, but 10 normal ones will more likely stay then because they survive... I wouldn't be that sad, tbh.
