ummm well yes, I didn't see that post at all.
I will attribute that to link overload when looking at the forum.

Regarding the wiki: back when I started there wasn't really one and I think it was more fun to start the game back then as the struggle to figure stuff out is now basically gone.
I think it can be summed up to: I was trying to play the game, and to that end find answers to the problems I was at, not read all possible links on the page. In fact, I did't go to the stickies at all, I was using the search functionality.
Who wants to spend days reading page after page, link after link? People come to play and learn as they play... not "Oh, let me read the manuals". I'm sure that some people are going to want to slam me for saying that, but it's the truth, it's human nature. It's one thing to get the information that I need right now, it's quite another to read a book on stuff that I've never seen or heard of yet. I'm also NOT one of those people that want or like step by step instructions. I want to know:
1 what is it?
2 what's it for?
3 how do I use it? or how does it work?
4 how do i built it? what's needed to build it?
This is why wiki pages are so helpful (if accurate and up to date), they link the concepts.
As to

This isn't really true. The struggle is most definitely there still. "Most" New players aren't going to read the forum, they don't know how to use the forum, they don't know even what to look for. The forum makes sense to experienced players, to new people, it's like reading greek (for those that don't know how to read greek

Long story short - the forum is a great reference tool, especially for conversations, they (almost) NEVER make good "How To's".
Is the information there?? Probably, just nearly impossible to find. especially given language and different words or ways of describing the same thing.
But I think I've digressed and probably over explained points of view.
