Ok, it would perhaps have been Really Quite Useful to have had some kind of system message about this issue before I went off and did a Nomad quest.

The problem is not the non-existence of a dock, it's the non-existence of the right dock. I've been afk for a few weeks and hadn't really looked at the forums before deciding that ok, I finally have a quiet evening with good wifi, let's go do a Nomad quest. The knarr was bobbing gently by the dock as it was last time I went down that way, I zoomed off merrily mowing down swans and had a quick chat with a tree, and then tried to teleport home.

Eh, it's not so bad today. I took the other way round and found that the Leviathan's Wake well is up to q96, and unrelatedly doubled my mulberry q. Not home yet but getting there!
