Stop wasting Jorb and Loftar time by trying to confuse them into thinking this is bad. It actively makes the game better, removes a lot of advantages bots can provide in crafting, and makes the game less tedious. Ya'll nibbas need to quiet down like literally everybody else has since world 8

It is bad. It's an exploit of one of the resources this game is based on: space. There are certainly other games out there that have near unlimited storage for items, but this isn't one of them.

Space is unlimited if a make a robot that walks between towers and checks cupboards, and would often be less effort to set up. Why take the ability for common people to have something similar away under the guise of balance if I'm going to have it irrespective?

The reason this feature has existed and been extremely public since 2015 is because everybody likes it, and it closes a gap that is good to be closed. It's thematically ugly, but mechanically a very elegant solution to a lot of the game's design problems.

Space as a limited resource is a design decision. It's why we don't have unlimited capacity cupboards and stockpiles.

Yes, I'm well aware of how long it has been known. Coles pointed it out to jorb back when he streamed it. It was like some of the other bugs we have had that are long standing in that it's a "we'll get it taken care of when we get around to it." (I'm paraphrasing.) Don't come at it like it is something the devs are fine with. I'm sure that they just haven't come up with a practical answer that also is bug free to fix it. In 2010, some of the raiders likely would have said "wall jumping is a feature and they'll never remove it." took a few years, but they finally got all the problems with it solved.

Use the process all you want. Just remember that one day it may well be fixed out of nowhere, and everything in those cupboards might have to be destroyed because it's no longer accessible. Don't come to the forums crying over the loss is all I'm saying. I hope nobody thinks I'm being pissy about it (well, maybe a little). I just want people to be forewarned that sometimes things get fixed out of nowhere and then people want to cry on the forums "because my favorite exploit is gone."

jeez~ time to add in a bit of placement code. if object is there. check next spot. if it fails more then 3 check, object blows up.

It literally makes the game 50 times easier if you DO use bots with this. Humans can't just do stuff through 200 cupboards like bots can. Humans can't look through 200 cupboards that fast. They have to look at every single window while bots will literally iterate through them in seconds. Having to walk the bot through 5 towers and 3 great halls is harder for the bot than iterating through a timber house. What are you even talking about?

LMAO ok https://i.imgur.com/yywxdeM.png

So then why are they public but only big factions knew about it? This is simply annoying, why do you have to defend such exploits and why don't you post tutorials on abusing bugs so they can be public for people that started playing this world?
Why isn't there a single bug report on this if it's been so "extremely public" since 2015?
You're also telling me of jordancoles' stream as if I was here since 2009 and I watched every single time he streamed this game. Although my account was created in february of 2018, I only played for like 2 months during that world, and never checked the forums. It was w11 when I really started playing, and I'm not the only one.

You probably use this with cheese racks too, don't you? This bug works with literally every liftable item, though I don't know how you could open cheese racks, cause there's no door knob that moves after you open them, but perhaps you don't need one when using a bot? So then do I have to learn how to make bots for everything in this game? Is that how I don't get destroyed by "pro" players?

At least tell me you're the one that made the bots in your group, that will at least give you some credit to why you're defending such exploits.

If you carry a cupboard and you log out, destroy the cupboard once it hits the ground. Quick band-aid, I doubt it hurts anyone.

"Get hurt" I don't really think honestly.
I mean when you have a use for that exploit, you don't really care about a few cupboards of veggies (if they get destroyed).
By the time this is fixed, it if is fixed at all, you grow quite strong and already have a huge advantage on anyone else.
Meaning you get the best natural resources, the meteorites, localized resources, and basically anything you want. Overall since raiding is made easier.
Then if by "get hurt" you mean a nuke of characters and city, that would be a mean move from the devs, since the only way to be able to match abusers is by abusing too. :|
I'm not paying a subscription to H&H to be a dedicated victim.

Also I don't think that it's too hard to patch really. I'll try an algorithm as well : Apparently there is already a function that tries to find a position for a lifted object when you log out. Just reduce its range : Either the object fits the character last location, either it gets nuked with all of its content - yes all, because otherwise a boat would get destroyed but maybe not the chests that are inside (?) -.

I understand that it's only two people running everything, and I love their work. And because I value their time, I suggest that they fix this before next world, so that they don't have to also make some db queries to remove the objects that have already been placed like that (which would be really resource consuming even on a geo-spatial database).
It's in the best interest for everyone that this is fixed before next world. :)
Well except for my dear snail queen apparently :D <3

All because of the stacked cupboards? :o

It is clearly well known. People have been abusing it for a while apparently, devs do nothing to fix and just ignore this topic. I therefore assume that it's a game feature.
And I hope that the devs can understand that we just can't have our cities fall behind everyone else's because we don't use that trick.
I mean, we are talking about infinite storage, why would you build a few towers when all you need is a log cabin ?

Use this trick look like pain in ass to me. I will build more shack to prevent pain to my ass.
