MacOS: How to move? (workaround available)

The worst monsters in the Hearthlands warp the fabric of space and time...

On Mac, I can't move… AT ALL.

I downloaded the new Autohaven and I ran the game. It said my "Authentication Token" was expired. I had no idea what that meant. So I signed in and the game started. Everything looked fine, except I couldn't move. I tried every key and both lift click and right click on my mouse. I tried restarting the game several times, still no luck. I even tried making a new account three times. It said the email was sent, but it has been two days and I have received nothing of the sort. Please help me with my problem. I would love to play the Eternal Alpha, but I can't MOVE. Please, help. Thanks for your cooperation.

This includes replacing java with old version, which lowers security of your mac, so H&H devs should still fix the issue with latest version of java.

First, download and install this:
https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572?locale=en_US

After it's installed, open terminal, and type this commands one by one:

Code: Select all
sudo mkdir -p /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/disabled

Code: Select all
sudo mv /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/disabled

Code: Select all
sudo ln -sf /System/Library/Java/Support/Deploy.bundle/Contents/Resources/JavaPlugin2_NPAPI.plugin /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin

Code: Select all
sudo ln -sf /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Commands/javaws /usr/bin/javaws

Doesn't work for me.

How to revert that? How to revert last link?

I have no idea if you can have several java versions in parallel (works on windows), but IF you can:

Wouldn't it be possible to install the working-for-hafen (=older) java version - while leaving the current one as the active one for the system - and manually start the game with the old version? The webstart .jnlp file is a download away, giving that as an argument to the javaws of the old (=working) version should do the trick...

?

You can install a legacy version of java into it's normal location, then run javaws from command line and add the home flag with the appropriate location. The following works for me (Yosemite [10.10.5], MBP).

Code: Select all
/System/Library/Java/Support/Deploy.bundle/Contents/Home/bin/javaws autohaven.jnlp -Djnlpx.home="/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk/Contents/Home/bin/"

You may have to fidget with the paths on your own system.

For me, this fixes the ability to move around and interact. However, terrain is still solid black.

Hi there.

Tried on versions of java (official and custom clients): 6, 7, 8.

Walk is not working. Need formal proposals on the solution of this problem.

Boot into Windows or Linux, should work there.
