I hope there will be fix soon... :(

check this please:
https://github.com/gcuisinier/jenv

jenv is for a equivalent of rbenv, but for Java environment. It allow to easily switch between several JDKs installations (already presents), and configure which one to use per project.
jenv may work on bash-ready OS.

Does only work with JDK!

I've just installed a new client that is intended to fix this problem. If someone who has the problem can verify, that would be good.

I'm also unsure whether the fix may have any unintended consequences, so people who don't have the problem can please also verify that nothing went suddenly wrong with clicking.

Forwarding this to a friend who had the problem and managed to get the work around. Maybe she can undo some stuff to test it for you?

So just using the vanilla client should be enough?

I just tried to run the default client on my Mac :) I'm not a programmer or knowledgeable about computers but here's what I observed:

1) Clicking on the default sent me to the Java site to update my java. I had been running on the Mac Java 6, and then now just updated to jre_8u66_macosx-x64

Last time I updated my Java I couldn't get the default client to run at all; this time it opens.

2) And I can walk around!

3) But there is some other general weirdness-- a strange lag between pointing the cursor and moving. And two cursors. One is my regular Mac cursor, the other is the haven cursor. They are right next to each other and follow each other around. When I try to take a screen shot my Mac cursor disappears so I can't show it.

I think it's much closer to really working than it was before, and I'm super excited to see work on some of the Mac issues! I'll also be following to see if anybody else posts here or can diagnose my dual cursor issue.

Edit: I can get the double cursor by pointing to a window outside of the game (when I'm not in full screen and doing other things) and then clicking right onto the game screen. I can get the double cursor to disappear by clicking on the top of the haven window (where it has the title of the game and options to open/close/minimize) before clicking on the game screen.

Are you saying these things only happen on the default client and not on some custom client, or are they general observations that are true for custom clients as well?

Previously I've been playing on Amber client compiled for Java 6 with no issues. I haven't yet tried any custom clients with Java 8 for Mac. I was just playing the default again on Java 8 to see if I can describe things better--I think that the issue is less a delay between pointing the cursor and moving, but rather that the cursor moves really slowly. Once I click I definitely move, but I need to wait a little bit for the cursor to catch up.

When there are two cursors, the normal Mac arrow pointer moves quite a bit faster than the golden Haven arrow. It's just a subtle lag between the cursors, which gets worse the further I am moving the cursor. The Mac arrow seems more responsive to what my mouse is doing, with the Haven arrow lagging behind and then eventually catching up.

But now I've gone in and out of houses and gates, and interacted with everything I could see without any issues other than the slow (and sometimes doubled) cursor.

One more update I just discovered that playing full screen removes the double cursor and the lag. It's perfectly playable now! Woot. <3
I think one tip for Mac users could be that if you get double cursors and lag, click the resize (green) button (sometimes more than once) and see if that fixes stuff.

Well, the double cursors and stuff at least seems like a different bug, so with your verification I'll consider this one solved. Thanks for verifying it!

Thus, unstickying.
