Sound is laggy/stuttering

The worst monsters in the Hearthlands warp the fabric of space and time...

Same problem as above, the audiobuf fixed it, wow I played for months in world 8 and 10 and this is the first time I actually have good sounds lol
It never really annoyed me, but I had this very same issue on a total of 3 different PC out of 3

Edit : the sound issue was also causing lags to some extent (even more with ambient sounds), I always thought it was because of bad optimization but no, everything is fine now...wow :D

Maybe devs could re write the audio thing.
It is a bit embarrasing to have a game in 2019 that has issues while playing audio.

the Ender client doesn't have that issue but it doesn't have music either it only has sound effects and the sound effects do not lag

Can the audio if be set to 2048 by default? This has been something I type in every time I have played since 2015.

If not, can we get a temp file that stores this setting so that I don't have to keep resetting it?

Just a thought. Will not be disappointed if does not happen, but could help new players.

FYI to the new players.
Press : while not in the chat box.
Curser will go to fancy command prompt.
Type audiobuf 2048
Enjoy smooth sounds in game.

Note that you can try even bigger number than 2048, it's just exactly twice the default value. However putting too large of a number may cause it's own set of problems.

I am just starting my 4th day in game. (Previously played Salem-the-game abt 3 yrs)

Same problem: Hearth green-fire, a few tiles away a regular lit fireplace, nighttime, light reflecting from surrounding trees. BOTH fires pulsing, shadow/light pulsing, music faint and indistinct & pulsing in rhythm with the fires and shadows. Pulse abt 2-3 times per second. Couldn't tell the difference between approaching bees and rushing wind.

Hardware: Old computer dual core abt 3ghz, Win 10, 8 g mem, Realtek onboard audio

Used ":audiobuf 2048" and it seems 90% fixed. Slight sound hesitation when I open a birch bark basket (But interestingly NONE when I hold scroll-wheel on mouse to twirl the screen view.)

But now, this is a totally different game, now just starting my 4th day.

Update: 3072 and 4096 both work better, without any problem. For a newb, suddenly having sound cues makes a completely different game. Also, background noise is now distinguishable as music.

We need a fix asap. Increase buffer by default, or give us a slider!
