The Land Without Rocks - Rocks Don't Exist Away From Spawn?

So, after walking in one direction for 3-4 hours, I eventually began to notice "Hey, I haven't seen a rock in like an hour." shaking it off, I continue into the vast distance, settle into a nice little cave by a lake, and begin working. I then decide it's time to pave some path. Little did I know, every direction I walk, 20 minutes each way at the very least, there is not a single rock. I'm not sure if this is a bug or highly unlucky world gen. I'm not on 40 minutes of walking one direction in hopes of finding the legendary rock!

After walking for another rather lengthy period of time, it looks as though there are literally no rocks at all. Possible issue during world gen?

I noticed something similar in one of the areas i walked through. Didn't see any rocks for a solid 30 mins of walking.

I've finally stumbled upon a rock, a single rock in a very long time. But I had to backtrack to where I'd come from to find it. Seems a bit strange to have such a low spawn rate.

Rocks are no longer infinite and players can deplete them, especially if multiple players are using it. Some biomes also appear to be devoid of rocks.

Some areas do indeed seem to have been cursed with a low occurrence of rock.
