Random death due to no known cause?

Postby Luckdemon » Sat Sep 05, 2015 9:30 pm

Today while walking in the woods, i heard a hit sound, checked my map and there was no animals anywhere around me, and we're far enough out that players aren't anywhere near either. I saw a 400/400 over my head and then I died. No boars, no bears, no rats/foxes/badgers/bats/anything. There was a single chicken on the other side of my minimap and that's it. I was not near water, I had almost no damage, and almost full hard hp. Full hunger too. Can you see what killed me? This is kind of an unfair way to die if I just happened to fall over while walking through the woods perfectly healthy...
I'd love it if something could be done to determine what killed me, and why. Thanks a lot jorbtar, you guys are great devs, and I'd hate to lose another character to stuff like this ^^

Chickens now have a ranged attack if they are level 6.

I suppose a heart attack can strike at any moment?

No clue, and we don't really track it either, unfortunately. Though arguably we should. Arrow in the knee?

Arguably, it should be tracked so your ancestor tombs can display it. Good little bit of immersion there that also informs the player.

No players anywhere nearby, using a custom client that shows players on the map too, so I would know if a player was shooting at me. Is there no way to see how I died?

Well, its already been confirmed that murder is on the table, that means there is at least 1 player with high skills.

A 1 Marksmanship with a q10 bow can hit for over 100 HP, that's enough to KO a player.

Someone whose been playing since day 1 could already have the high enough Marksmanship and the quality of the bow/arrows high enough to hit 400 easily.

It was a 400/400 hit, which would mean 800 damage. Murder isn't really on the table because my house is a ridiculous distance out away from civilization.
