Most certainly not. How did you create that?

Im guessing some parts of the ash were made from bones in a kiln, and the other from lighting fires and placing in inventory?

Stole it, not sure how it was made.

I made some, and couldn't reproduce the bug. These aren't my ashes though.

I made bone ashes, mixed with firebrand ashes of both types (ql and without ql) and mixed them very very quickly.

When the ashes are split they lose their uniqueness and if they are crafted in to something they probably count as ql 0. No server crash. :(

I can say that this does not do it. I made the mistake of doing this (got q15ish bone ashes, became 7 when adding the ash from brands  ).

If anyone has steps to reproduce I'd be very grateful. Will investigate, though.

I've reproduced it by mixing some leftover firebrand ash along with some bone ash. Albeit, i also noticed another strange behaviour with ashes that may be related.
Namely, no-quality ashes. Or at least it isn't displayed.

I already tried crafting with that and it didn't display particularly abnormal behaviours - seems like it is treated as 0 quality. Still, seeing as past attempt to use 0 quality items had...peculiar results...i guess i should avoid writing how to get it, for now.

Anyway, about the topic, here it is.

I'm now cooking some other bone ashes to test one thing, cause i suspect that the bug mentioned above and the "double quality" one may actually share the same bug...

Any particular amounts you mixed and matched? I couldn't repeat by just playing around for a while.

Yep, and i guess i know why. The order in which you do the operation counts.
Get the ash from a bone and mix it with the ash of a branch and you get double quality.
Do the opposite, and you end up with a single quality one.
Guess that and the one i pmed you really may be related.
