kiln mixed load firing time

I loaded up a kiln with two unfired urns and filled the extra space with clay blocks for brick. I added one tar stick, which seemed to give me about four blocks worth of fuel from the fuel bar, then I lit it. Partway through the bricks were done, so I took them out and loaded up more clay blocks, but i left the urns undisturbed. When I came back later after it had burned out, the urns were only about 2/3 done. From the fuel bar, I'd have thought there was plenty of fuel, so I suspect the firing time for the urns may have gotten reset by either taking out the finished bricks or loading up fresh blocks. Is this intended?

Urns need to be fired for a pretty long time. Significantly longer than bricks. Not a bug. Locking.
