Hearthlings discover refridgeration

Killed a boar in the forest, went off to pick something before porting home and promptly forgot where I put it. After much fruitless searching, ported home defeated. 24 hours later I find a boar corpse in that forest. Not where I thought I killed it, but naturally I had looked where I thought it was already. It was within 1.5 minimaps of where the fight started though so I was guessing it's the same boar. So I threw that corpse in my unused cellar, and came back 24 hours later:

That boar has been corpsified for 48 hours now and still no decay. Tested on a fox decay seemed to take ~8 hours when the map is loaded. I'm assuming decay doesn't currently progress in unloaded maps.

The corpses do not decay on clock. In fact it is presently a bug that they decay at all. Intended.

That's actually pretty sweet. Thanks for the info, I guess my fox decaying ended up being the bug then XD

We have snow biomes now, let us dig up some:
Code: Select all
-> discovery: Snowball (can be thrown)
 -> enables 'Ice' crafting
-> discovery: Ice Block (maybe 10 snow to 2x2 ice block?)
-> new foods: desserts (with fruits), icecream (with milk + flavor, like nuts)
this is reported to be done by Nero (37 bis 68 AD), so fits timeline
-> enables 'Cooler' being build (liftable while empty, CB size grid?)
needs ice block in it to be active
uses up top-leftmost block of ice in it over time to keep the rest cool
       keeps food from spoiling
-> enables 'Ice cellar' (underground building, dosn't need to be inside a house) being built
store stockpiles in the cold to keep contents from spoiling (or thawing in case of ice blocks)
needs ice in it to be active
consumes ice blocks from stockpile in it to keep the rest cool

After that somewhat realistic food spoileage, including rotting and molding inside the cupboards, please.
