Stuck in starting area

Not sure if this is a bug or if im just that stupid, but im stuck in the starting area, I found the wizard, wrote the character name and pressed enter, nothing happened.

If i move to the border of the map im either stuck at a black screen i cannot move into to the north and if i move to the sides the map just loops over and i pop up on the other side of the begginers area.

What am I doing wrong?

Have not found any rocks so I am guessing i am not supposed to stay here for a long time.

i think your supposed to walk into the fire, i didn't get it at first either, would have been stuck if not for Skype.

Yeah that was it, why doesnt the wizard say "walk into the fire" in the insert name window, would make stuff more obvious.

I don't know, but I was walking around as a spirit for awhile too on day 1. built some stuff, walked off the map till it teleported me to the other side.
finally called up my group and asked how they got into the game. I would have never walked into the fire, the fire didn't even register to me as something to interact with.
