Hmm, does this happen in a particularly "heavy" area (like, a large town, with tons of crops and whatnot), or just in the plain wilderness as well?

Well, yes. It usually will wind up crashing when i go to a village, but sometimes it will crash in the wilderness but a takes a bit longer to crash. It almost feels as if the land behind me doesnt unload and thats why.

Well, it seems obvious that something is leaking, in that case; the question is just what (and why it only happens to you, for that matter).

When it starts lagging, try running the ":gc" console command and see if that helps.

With no text field or anything selected (just click the map view to deselect anything else), type a colon to activate the console prompt (it should show just above the hotbelt), and type in "gc" (two letters, without the quotes), and hit enter.
