materials:
ash (made from bat, spit roasting) 15/15/15
linen cloth 16/22/17

result:
ashen robes 8/11/8

conclusion:
despite displayed quality 15/15/15 ash was counted as 0ql

(16|22|17 + 0|0|0)/2 = 8|11|8.5 ~ 8|11|8 (as a result stated)

Well I need to attempt to Carve it? Will its graphics change when it's ash-ified?

edit: I have noticed that there is a new hourglass and I'm pretty sure it's taking even longer than it did before it was roasted. I'll have to guess that when this one reaches 100%, the carcass will become ash.

The carcass stays the same, but you will lose the menu option to "turn" it, just "carve" is avaliable. It gives 0.2 of ash x2, carcass quality unchanged, which means you only need to burn 5 carcasses for Ashen robe.

Takes a few hurs of violent uninterrupted turning to burn one though.
