Vandalism attempt leaves scents

Trying to break someone's wall leaves vandalims scent, even though the wall is too hard for you. Doesn't makes any sense to me.

Well if i came home to find my fence bent out of shape, regardless if still structurally intact, I too would question wether a noob attempted to break in and would then proceed to sniff the fence in question.

Sounds intended to me as well - you shouldn't be able to test every soaked item in the game for destructibility without a penalty.

Otherwise, yeah, if you don't do any damage, is there really a crime? The flip side to that is... Palisade have a fixed soak if they've set for more than a day or so. Unless you just watched some people put theirs up, it's probably at full soak. Do you really need to go around and knock at someone else's walls to see if they'll break easily? In that case, there certainly is intent to do harm and an attempt at it, even if it failed. People got shot in the Old West for less.
