When i open cabinets most of the time Ill crash out of game. I did 4 or five times when first logging in. If I try and type in chat while a cabinet is open same thing.

And the crash report says what?
"The psychological trials of dwellers in the last times will be equal to the physical trials of the martyrs. In order to face these trials we must be living in a different world."

Probably this. Try uninstalling all java versions and install x64 one, if you are on x64 OS. Have same problem on intel vcard if I run client on x32 java on x64 OS.

This might sound weird but can you try to use this flat cupboard mod and see whether you still get crashes: viewtopic.php?f=49&t=43317?

There was a villager who had the same issue. And for some WTF-reason this mod helped him.

I also had this problem and used to crash ~40% of the time I opened any cupboard indoors - outside was fine, the problem was doing it inside a house. I didn't try doing that in caves or cellars by the way.
But that stopped when the client I use adopted flat cupboard models; I never crashed again because of cbs. I PMed you the link, it's worth trying.
