Tanning fluid level not dropping

I put some rabbit furs in three tubs filled to the rim with tanning fluid.
When the tanning was around 66% one of the tubs showed that half of the tanning fluid was used , while the other two showed full bars.
I don't know if is relevant, I'm using Amber client.
Just checked with vanilla client, same results.

As far as i know, the tanning fluid is consumed when the tanning is complete, not gradually over the duration. Are you sure you didn't just not fill that one all the way?

I've checked with another batch of furs, and everything hag gone well, so its quite probable that i didn't fill the last tube ...

Someone in village mentioned their tanning fluid is not going down after tanning and it's probably the same bug as the chicken water one. But since we're not fixing that one why fix this one. I like free leather. Tanning fluid crafting is an abomination anyway.

It is definitely not the same as the chicken water bug, but if this is true I'd love to hear more about it. It doesn't happen for me, nor naively during testing.

well, I'm not sure if I'd have anything useful to add but what I can say is:
I have tons of 2x2 hides from different animals piled up and 6 tubs. I recently refilled all of them and every time I get the leather out I put another hide in, so they're being used with the exact same frequency. However, all the tubs have variable amounts of tanning fluid by now.
So: I don't know if different hides consume different amounts of tanning fluid to be tanned. IF that's the case, then it's ok. BUT if all hides of the same size (2x2) are supposed to consume the same amount of tanning fluid, then there's certainly an issue...
