Cave in tiles that are already mined out still make dust

Postby bmjclark » Tue Nov 03, 2015 8:46 am

If you mine out a cave in tile under a mine support then mine out the tiles around it dust still rains down like there's a cave in tile. It's pretty annoying if you're trying to mine out of a mine supports radius because you can't tell if you've got actual dangerous tiles around you or if it's just the tile you already mined.

I like it, since it tells you that it was worth to build the support.

Also helpful should they change the mechanic when removing supports (so it only triggers then-unsupported unstable tiles instead of always the one where the support is) so you know what to expect.

So I see it as a feature adding to the visuals, like flower objects on the ground.

Well, i mean if you dig out a cave in tile and there's no other cave in tiles in the area, all of the adjacent tiles still drop dust like there's a cave in tile around. It's a big problem if you try to mine out of support radius you mine a cave in tile a tile or 2 before you leave the radius because all the tiles will still drop dust as you're trying to leave the radius.

Not a bug. Dangerous tiles are always indicated.

What do you mean "after they're mined out"? That they stay that way permanently?

Or that dust suddenly falls on a tile previously mined out...?

"x" are unmined tiles, all are under support.

I mine out "o". Dust falls on o.

Then what?
