Farming bugging out or unlucky?

Postby Ejnekor » Fri Nov 27, 2015 10:12 am

I am looking at third (!) generation of Hemp and Flax. It didn't changed much at all for me.

Seeds have mostly the same stats with one stat from three changing only for +- 1-2. My farming is WAY above stats in there. Specifically speaking 100+ farming against up to 44q on one of the parameters. It feels like I am capping them, though, for some reason as, like I said, the stats don't change at all. And from looks of it - only one parameter do changes once I re-plant (which can be deviation of seed quality itself).

So I am looking at 40-22-44 hemp right now, while I had 40-22-42 seeds (could have 44 too, since I do have fiber with this quality). Previous generation was about the same (same average q and I see same q fiber in stockpiles).

And it is third generation of 40-40-41 flax already.

Am I missing something obvious or there is something funny happening with quality right now?

Suspect that you are being unlucky, quite simply.

Can I panic if that will happen forth time though? :D

But nice to know that there is not (intended) cap I am reaching. Hopefully my bad luck will go away.

There is no cap. Your patch of farm is simply getting unlucky rolls for the quality shift. Either test different spots within the same time-frame or test different timeframes in the same area.

It'd help if a lot of this mystical mumbo jumbo we need to guess were somehow indicated with nice visual effects that custom clients didn't immediately ruin by displaying numbers instead. If Jorb/Loftar worked on such easy to discern UI features there wouldn't even be a need for numbers on custom clients. I mean, weather patches that flicker between several states (like the current sickness mechanic in salem) and the dominant one determines what quality will get the highest rise or something like that.
