Interesting. You are applied at a 90° wrong angle as far as I can tell.

If I recall correctly my hearthling started making guazes from right position, but then he jumped to the other side. After finishing the gauze he was floating in the air.

Ive had something similar to this. I used my loom to make gauze then clicked my spinning wheel to make so wool balls for cloth. The wheel was right behind the loom, so my character just spun 180 and used it while still sitting on the loom.
