Unable to open the game

Hey, I'm rather new to Haven and Hearth so I might be missing something on this but I can't open the game. I get the file from the site and when I go to open it all I get is a notification saying 'unable to run the application' from java. I have updated my java and I have deleted the cache files on the java control panel.
I'm not sure if this is on my computer or the game itself but if anyone has had a similar experience I'd appreciate any help that can be given.

There should be an "Exception" or "Wrapped exception" tab. Please post the contents from it/those.

not really an expert, but i would say something is blocking your connection and is not allowing you to download game files

Yeah, I assume so, but I have been completely unable to find out what though.
