Cannot make keys

I have built a gate, changed a lock, and still not able to make any keys. Is my character bugged or what? Really need that slave key, living near AD is no fun in the sun.

You're supposed to get a master key after you built the gate and put a lock on it, if you have a key ring it went in there.

Thats the thing, Ive built two gates but never got two keys. I dont have the option to craft another master or slave key.

Are you keying an old master key to the lock? You need to have the old master key in your inventory with the new lock, then without keying your old key to the lock you just place it on the gate and get a new one and this should get you the discovery as well.
