Wiki insists elderwood exists.

In my experience it drops 0-15 or so

Make sure hes using a client to show growth, it has to be 100% grown to drop wood. Also use a metal axe for more woodblock drops.

Meant mature as in 100% grown. Fingers crossed on #2.

Okay, faced my fears and chopped 3 more, 8 , 8 and 2 woodblocks. Guess it is random indeed, thanks for the feedback , nvm this post :D
