i keelled a piglet and did not get a suckling maw
do pigs not give one? or is it possible that the meat quantity was too low? i thought the meat quantity didn't affect suckling maws

i got 4 meat and 1 intestine/entrails with a 2x1 skin
first time having pigs, sorry if this is intended

Just be happy they don't limit it to sheep/goats to be able to produce rennet. (Note: it's because pigs don't chew cud.)

reading wikipedia it says rennet is made from the stomach of a calf, that if the calf eats grain or grass it produces less of the enzyme needed for cheese making. so i have no idea why chewing cud matters (looks like it is that the animal brings food back from the stomach up for further chewing) so chewing cud makes less sense...

googling 'pig rennet' it is traditionally made from calves but can also be produced by lambs or pigs. in real life, pigs produce rennet. but alas, bringing realism into this game is frowned upon

I stand corrected, then. From what I read, it was produced using the ruminant gut of animals that chewed their cud, goats and sheep being the most common, cows less so (mostly because of breeding way back when). Of course, other chemicals and such can be used. I'll note it's been a while I read up on pre-modern cheesemaking, and didn't recall pigs being mentioned.

Intended. Not a bug.
