Logging off on boat carrying object

Postby fackingpiece » Fri Apr 29, 2016 1:45 pm

Every time I log out(get lagged off server) while carrying something over my back on a boat, whatever I am carrying disappears forever. I have lost so much stuff this way. Please fix this

people play this game from all over the world and i doubt haven has multiple data centers set up to service all of those people so lag is going to always be a factor for some people no matter the internet connection dont be so quick to shut someone down when you dont know what youre talking about

Try to place items inside the boats instead of carrying them. You will carry less, but the item can be safe.

And people from all over the world play this with out connection issues. No, he shouldn't be so harsh in Bugs. It's a help forum. Better would be to say he needs to check his network stability, check with his network provider, etc. to diagnose the issue. It has been known that Hetzner has had issues in the past, but from what I hear, they're very fast to fix such issues when they're found.

I almost said some mean shit but you guys handled it better . Who knows what is causing the lag but it's definitely an issue that stuff disappears. For example if somebody is trying to move to a new village and take everything with them, any number of things could happen causing them to disconnect during a long trip. "get better internet" is rather silly considering how many places only have one choice of ISP, and I'm sure this "bug" is not intended by the developers, bad internet or not. Just the fact that you can generally log out on boats could cause people to assume they are safe to log off while carrying something.

For now I will stop carrying stuff on a boat. This does make me quite curious where the items are ending up though. I assume they are ending up somewhere in the world rather than being deleted. Could the devs make it so the items show up on the closest shore when this happens?

Objects dropped in water disappear. Intended, but arguably they could perhaps be bobbing in the water instead, though that would be a much bigger deal.

Some objects should float. Atleast for some time. (Like wooden stuff)
