game chrashes on startup

so, i logged in, clicked PLAY and it started up, it showed the GUI in the game, it told me that it was building the map, and then, my whole computer turned black, it then loaded everything, but the actual game didn't work, the whole thing was black, i closed it with task manager and then i tried again, it actually downloaded it again, but it still started up, same thing but this time except the game was white...
i have java, and i tried like six times, i don't know what to do...

I would recommend updating Java and redownloading the vanilla client before you try anything else.

Verifying that Java is updated is important, but probably not the problem.

If the game is crashing, you should be getting some sort of error report. Please post it.

If it's not crashing, there could be an issue other than Java itself.
