Whenever I fight a Deer it does this and crashes the Client (amber), is this a game or Client problem?

Does it also happen on the default client?

Yes, it does occur in the Vanilla Client aswell, I've taken so much damage from this ;-;

Edit: Just as a side question, are Deer supposed to be harder to kill than Auroch, in the other combat system it was otherwise.

Ah, there's a tooltip missing (on the deer's mule-kick attack). I'll have to ask Jorb to fix it when he wakes up again. In the meantime, I'm pretty sure it only makes the client crash because you're hovering the deer's attack display with the mouse to get the tooltip. If you don't do that, it shouldn't crash.

Should be long since resolved.
