Possible cheese making bug?

Postby cyrus9586 » Sun Sep 25, 2016 5:10 am

So I was watching a batch of Mothzarella finish. It was at 99% from straight curd. This was stage one so curd in tray in mine. It went 99% to Generic Gouda. I then went to my cellar where I had started some Cellar Cheddar on a minor delay. It too went 99% Generic Gouda. So that was 6 racks wasted. But then I remembered my last batch had gone to gouda as well. I thought maybe I had just mistimed it from the wiki but I double checked just before posting this and the wiki says it takes 2 days to fail. My last batch was 3 racks of Cellar Cheddar as well and it went to generic gouda within 2 hours of when it should have turned into cheddar.

Edit: Bottom of wiki says cellar cheddar is broken in W7 but I have bought/found Midnight Blue Cheese this world so I know it has to be craftable.

Can +1 this because I saw the cheese with my own eyes at 87% a few hours before they were removed from the racks.

Just a random idea, but....

could it be it was made with mixed curds or such that got hammered from the sheep cheese update?

All trays were either cow curd or curd I never mixed them also on my CC batch 3 racks went to GG at 82% on their own rest were fine. Those may have been mixed. These went 99% then GG

cow's curd or curd? well curd only is mixed so it only turns into generic :s perhaps you meant sheep's curd? otherwise that was the problem.

the cupboards I cupboards I found had some curd but I only used it in my CC batch. The rest of this problems with cellar cheddar and mothzarella have been straight cow curd.

No clue. Hard to investigate after the fact. Feel free to keep making observations.
