unable to click

Postby Rawthorne » Tue Nov 01, 2016 10:57 pm

Has anyone recently tried to play on a Windows 10 laptop and had the issue where you could not click?

My sister has tried and it lets her click exactly once as a wisp, and then won't acknowledge any clicks again. We were only able to find old threads of mac users complaining of this bug.
Any help or suggestion would be great guys, i'd love to play with her :D

I'm no expert on this but saw this thread, maybe it helps?

There is also a further link in that one to another similar issue.

If it's no help I'm sure someone will come along who knows better, like Granger or MM. :)

Maybe someone switched your Win10 system for OSX? just kidding...

Check out the information in this thread. Loftar has a couple of requests on the matter.

First suggestion is to make sure you're running 64-bit Java. Since Edge, Explorer, and most other browsers install 32-bit versions by default, you'll need to get a manual download from java.com (The site detects what browser version is used and serves an appropriate version of Java.)

https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Use the "Windows Offline (64-bit)" link.

If you still have issues, please follow loftar's instructions in the above thread.

Just in case you weren't aware, the OSX click issue should be long fixed.

But yes, please follow the previous suggestions.

For some reasons, there are lots and lots of 32-bit Java installations out there. I don't quite understand why.

Java.com detects the specific browser version and serves the version of Java based on that. Even with a 64-bit browser, Mozilla will still serve up the 32-bit version of Firefox by default for download. The 64-bit version is still considered "beta," though I've had 0 issues myself. I'm not sure about Chrome, but believe it is also based on the browser you use to access the download with, so again you get 32 with a 32-bit based browser, 64 if you have that installed. I'm not sure about Edge, but Explorer was always 32-bit. (I think Edge is a 64-bit browser, but haven't explicitly looked, either.)

Note: mistakenly stated Edge in my last post when I meant to mention Firefox, Chrome, and Explorer. I'm not sure what amount of Windows users have tried and stuck with Edge in Win10.
