Ducks and horses

Postby fallout » Thu Dec 15, 2016 12:11 am

The update just went live and I scared off the first mallards I saw. I grabbed a horse and went after more. only to run over them with a horse and the mallards corpse disappearing into the dark blue. I actually just got my first mallard from a trash pile on sand just now. My point is that these things are really fast and having a horse is almost required in catching them but hitting them over water causes you to lose your catch.

Managed to get mine by scaring it onto land, sneaking up behind it and taking it out with a bow.
If you use the Walking Speed you can get closer than you would be able to with anything else.
From there use the bow to take it out.

First off, you must ask yourself this: If a duck was to get run over by a horse irl, do you really think it would survive?

Secondly, not a bug, it's just a game mechanic, get use to it and get gud kid.

Not a bug, but rather the point.

All you have to do is get between the sea and the duck on your horse, it's easily done, and then they fly off over land ... if you have a knarr you catch them all the time, they don't even have time to fly off. :)
