B12 Dissappearing

Postby Headchef » Thu Dec 15, 2016 2:13 am

Hello everyone, a friend of mine dropped a b12 from a container so I could pick it up, but when I did it did not go into my inventory but was also not on the ground anymore. At first I thought he took it and was messing with me but he wasn't and showed me his screen. This is certainly not a matter of being backstabbed for a weapon I'm totally sure therefore I would like to hear if someone else has experienced simillair things with an item just vanishing.

He dropped it from a medium chest, was on the ground for less than 5 seconds for sure before I attempted to pick it up.

When I tried to see if it was some insane graphical glitch with a secondary account it was also not on the floor anymore.

I've sent a more detailed version to Jorb in PM so maybe it could be traced where the malfunction occured.

Needless to say this sucks incredibly.

I think it is random when item on floor disappear. Sound to me like you become unluck. Transfer item with container for safe moving.

I doubt this because when I stay around items on the floor I've never had them dissappearing..? Only when unloading area, which is why I thought people go inside houses when they try to let items in raided villages despawn..?

I don't expect on getting weapon back but would just like to know what actually happend to it and if it's a ''mechanic'' or a flaw and I guess the second at the moment..

If you have a toolbelt equipped, it may very well have gone directly onto it, in case you had no room for it in your inventory.

After new update I saw ''tool belt'' added.

I tried crafting it immediately after getting back in.

Strange, nowhere to be found, so I shrugged thinking I had something not discovered and went on with business.

Apparently a HUNTER'S belt is a toolbelt which is where I found it back.

This confused the fuck out of me and am happy to have it back, already found it so weird since never had items dissappear on me like that before, thank you Loftar :D

B12 in toolbelt?
Why?

It is possible to put it on the toolbelt, and so the game puts it there if you have no room left in your inventory.

If the question was why it goes on the toolbelt at all, then that is because it is possible to use it as a sharp tool for eg. butchering, and also to make it possible to swap it out for other tools.
