Combat changes bugged taming?

Since the latest patch, it seems animal taming may be bugged

ive been taming 4 horses (started prepatch)
all 4 tamed fine, 2 of them even tamed for 2nd round, so i know im doing it right (peace mode)

since the patch, ive killed 2 of the 4 horses (out of 2 taming attempts).. same process as before
is it possible the aggro changes has affected the taming process?

Same happened to me. Was punching tethered horse that went into agro mode from a boat. Peace turned on. At last hit I see the yellow number "40" above it - percentage tamed? - and it immediately dies.

Well i was using rocks to block horse = dead.

We did it fair way. Not a single taming failure so far.

Ive also been tameing without trapping the animal or using boats and i've had no incidents

It means actually tanking the horse while taming it.

taming with a bow works and animals wont attack back
