Fire Spit no longer works.

Not sure if anyone else has gotten this.

I tried using the firespit earlier, but it wont let me put cleaned animals on it, and when I try to right click it normally, it gives me "Put Out" and "Open" options as if I was using the fireplace itself.

Craft a Roasting Split from blocks and strings. (Tried to link to wiki page, but not there yet. )

Off the top of my head, this is under "Crafting" "Clothes & Equipment" "Odds & Ends" (might not be in the clothing submenu and just under "Crafting")

edit: reread OP. Missed that you said "tried to use roasting spit." Sorry. Might be related to the lean-to bug and another issue that has come up.

I was just having this same problem. After trying several things, I switched to the default client and the spitroasts returned to normal, so it seems to be a problem with custom clients. I was using Amber at the time the bug occurred.

The spitroasts are still bugged on custom clients even after cleaning the meat off.

Same issue

Left a carcass on the spit and went out hunting. The animal finished cooking on the spit. Only have put out and open. Using Amber client

same issue here using enders client (v12.01.2017 09:34)
i dont know if it has something to do with it, but i used the "take" option / command on the Roasting Spit while in inventory before i placed the spit on the fireplace.

with default client i was able to take it back in inventory, placed it again with enders.. same result as quotet above

If you have an issue with a custom client, take it up with the author. The Bugs forum is for technical support of the default client.
