Can't Use Quest Tree in Village Claim w/o Crimal Acts

Postby PoisonedPorkchop » Tue Feb 21, 2017 8:47 am

I went to go to a quest tree, only to find that the tree was in a large village claim (that wasn't yet walled). It forced me to turn on criminal acts to interact with the tree, though it didn't appear to leave any scent. Then, the bear that I was carrying that I had set down(so that I could interact with the quest tree), was inside the village claim as well. I was about to pick up my bear and hearth home, when a message told me that it would be theft. I realized that I still had criminal acts on, and that picking up MY bear had left a tresspassing scent on their territory. I was about to buy Theft then and there and take my bear from this claim, but decided against it, as I didn't want to leave yet another scent. This forced me to 'gift' them this free bear, and leave a scent(something I hate doing). Sometimes, I will come across a quest tree that is walled inside a village as well, meaning I am FORCED to abandon the quest(yeah let me just siege every village with a quest tree in it). I would suggest to simply allow one to use a quest tree without turning on criminal acts(I took a risk, not knowing if it would leave a scent or not), but no, I think all quest trees/rocks within a village or player claim should be destroyed, so that people can actually finish the quests they are given.

If a tree or a rock, that is related to a quest, is destroyed then the quest is automatically abandoned

Also, using a quest giver without criminal acts wouldn't solve your problem, because you still would have to put the bear down first to be able to interact with NPC.

Yep, which is why I said no to that solution. The solution you gave is the one I was implying.

Reported previously. Difficult to fix.

Simple solutions:
  • make objects on claims ineligble as questgivers
  • attach a one-tile field cairn effect to active questgivers
Preferably the first.
