I have a minehole with a pali just around (no space in-between). Gates on every side. I can open them from the outside, and if I go downstairs and upstairs I can open 3 of them.
The fourth one is bugged and I cannot interact with him from the top of the minehole: I walk near to it and then nothing happens.

Too obscure to investigate further. Might be that you can't walk in one direction as walking when in bounding boxes (minehole's bbox, that is) is only allowed to strictly leave the object. Idk.
