Dead animals disappear from house.

So before I logged off I moved a dead moose and a dead deer inside my house to butcher when I got back on. I wanted to make sure nobody could see them.
When I came back they were both gone. At first I thought I was raided but after checking my base no other valuables were missing. And I had higher quality iron just lying around too.
So has anybody experienced this as well?

First question is, Did you hunt them or collect them randomly seen on the forest floor?
If seen on the forest floor (without skin, then they're less than 8hours of decay timer, with skin it's 48hours after killed that it loses skin then 8hours after skinloss that it disappears)

Yeah that must the problem. I found those two already dead.
