Another washed-up Knarr

Postby zhiel » Sat Jun 03, 2017 4:11 am

A nice morning tempted me to look for river pearl, wishing to get better living as a hermit. Then I decided to sail away, picking up every single mussels I spot. However, my voyage did not last long. I took a road sign, trying to bypass a land of sand separating the shallow river I sailed upon. I thought the road would take me to the other side of the land, but it wasn't the case.

My journey ended before it even started.

~ RIP ~

I saw some similar posts and heard stories regarding knarr getting stuck. Some managed to unstuck, some just cried silently. I also notice that Jorb intends to fix this kind of thing. Perhaps implement a feature to "push" a knarr or use hearth magic to move knarr at the cost of xxx experience. I really want to save my knarr and I really wish that new players will not have their knarrs stuck like me. Please make a solution to this.

I would suggest that the game checks if you're inside a boat when traveling and simply refuses the teleportation in case the hitbox of the boat won't end up in water.

I also agree with that. If using roads while in knarr is an intended behavior, then what Granger suggest might be good solution. I mean for now, the knarr is like the best vehicle in the game, requiring a lot of resource. There should be a way to retrieve a washed up knarr.

to be honest in my opinion knarrs should not be allowed to take crossroads considering how ridiculous this can get.

10 perpetrators and 64 cargo in 1 ship poof poof crossroad magic - other side of the map.

Of course the mechanic is the same for other vehicles and stuff but especially since it's the largest in terms of cargo I find it debatable :/

It could be removed if it is really not following medieval logic . But I don't mind either way, at least that would prevent future knarr stucks.

This guy here, viewtopic.php?f=42&t=56793, seems like having the same problem. I doubt he could unstuck the knarr, perhaps it's caused by the new push out mechanic, but I dunno. I cant just interact to any object at all (roadsign, stockpiles, etc) when riding the knarr. There was someone who managed to unstuck, viewtopic.php?f=40&t=52305&start=20. But it was quite a while ago in the previous world.

Well, My camera angle was so bad that I thought I would land on water surface. Man this is frustrating...

Reported several places. Will consider.
