While L5 mining tonight, I ran into one of the big clumps of slimes after mining out a tile, probably about 14 of them, not important. Had to beat a temporary retreat to establish a better position to fight from. I had been stockpiling ore/rocks to the side of my tunnel, and my understanding was that if animals can't path to you they'll smash anything smashable preventing them from doing so. Several of my ore stockpiles were destroyed during combat/retreat as the slimes blocked each others' pathfinding due to spawning in a huge clump. The obvious solution is to dig a wider tunnel, but I just thought I'd bring this up. The smashing makes sense in the context of wild animals to prevent cheesing hunting, but doesn't feel right with them all spawning at once and fucking up their own pathfinding.
Is this behavior correct? Are slimes supposed to present that kind of risk to your goods as well as the player? Or, is this an unintended consequence of the new behavior of spawning a ton of guys in one space at once?
