Credo questgiver is already dead

I have received quest while pursuing a credo to deliver an item to questgiver "Iscarl" that is deceased, 3 times now, there is no marker to his location, and I have been to the site to confirm, the questgiver was indeed chopped down, I'm guessing it doesn't check to see if the questgiver is still alive or not for credo quests

You shouldn't be getting quests to spirits that no longer exist. Sure it's not underground somewhere, or on a level other than the one you're currently on? An image of what the screen looks like would be helpful.

interestingly I got on today and had a marker for the questgiver, I went over and was able to deliver to the stump, which i wasn't able to do previously, not sure what's up with that, but my issue is resolved i guess.
