Attempt to destroy fresh pallisade

Postby Alternus » Mon Dec 18, 2017 3:45 am

So there is a pallisade wall 1 tile away adjecent to a caves interior entrance. I can not target it with destroy. Nothing happened, no "You are not strong enough". Nothing.

Any advice? The closeness to the entrance seems to be protecting it from being selected or something.

It may well be that the entrance box is interfering with any attempts to destroy.

An image might be helpful, and possibly a PM to the devs with the approximate location or name of a character with a nearby hearthfire.

Once it has been built for over 24hrs it needs higher strength to break it, it's soak increases to full over 3 days, it's only prior to the 24hrs that a weak char can break it. You don't get any notification, like 'you are not strong enough', similar to what you would get with cave walls, just nothing happens as you said.

You can, however, mine your way in, or build a minehole.

You can assault the position, point being. Enter from another cave, or the like.

Please keep in mind that there are states of the world (when it's not that old as ours currently is) where this kind of setups can be exploited as characters at that point are not able to walk through the void like it's made of warm butter.

Would do you think about attaching the building near water rules to cave entrances?

Would be nice... like it was in old worlds with a 10x10 square centered on the cave entrance (or was it 11x11?).

Will say it's at least nice we don't get stuck on that when entering like we did at one point, and couldn't walk back out of the cave.
