Parasol mushroom

Postby Enjoyment » Thu Feb 15, 2018 2:47 pm

Today I've been praised with gardener credo's quest "Pick parasol mushroom (x2)"
Yay! - I said - such an easy task.
... 7 hours later ...
WTF?!? - I said - I've found 36 truffles, 27 bolettes, 7 bluebells, 3(!) camomiles and 0 parasol mushrooms.
So, is that intended or there's some creepy little bug?

Need to be on the right biomes. Not a bug.

do u think I've collected all listed stuff sitting behind my walls? I've traveled like half of the world in 2 directions. And I definitely found a plenty of them earlier. And it wasn't a 20mins walk with fast "bug-report", I've spend half-day triyng to find it.

Which biome is that? "Beige" or "Beige a little bit yellow-ish" or "Beige yellow-ish"? If it's plain beige then i might have to travel to another continent. I'm all for continents with unique biomes but when it's also tied to Credo Quests which is 100% RNG.. that's a rage-quit inducing problem here.

Agreed. Random quests give random results, defy any player-made coherent plans for anything. Quests should be a thing well thought and balanced with the player's ability or level or stats or whatever. Definitely not RANDOM. RANDOM is the problem with quests, not the quest demands in themselves. Both for credos and for normal quests.

As a rule of thumb, everything that makes life easyer and less boring/grinding for players is a great idea. Everything that makes the game harder is crap coming from sadistic tendencies of Jorbtar helped by the few players with the same kind of disorders.

Big discussions on this in C&I with several threads on different suggestions to fix it. If there's no bug here, let's move this conversation over to there, please.

I don't recall this one specifically because I don't have a good sense of all the colors of the biomes, and probably won't do very good at it because the custom clients can serve that up. I'd suggest using the Ring of Brodgar wiki to start with to see what they spawn in. http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Parasol_Mushroom The "terrain" section may not be completely accurate as this world has seen some changes to world generation. (The one pictured above is "Lichen Wold.")
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

I found a tiny speck.. the fastest alternative was going to another continent
