Collecting Bug

Postby SinizterMoFo » Sun Apr 01, 2018 6:47 pm

I collected the Ancient root. Part of the tree is on a village claim but half of it is not. I collected from the farthest point away from any claim but still I get RedHanded and punished. I thought no one could own These things anymore. What is the purpose of making everything a crime in this game. Now I am once again vulnerable. If all you have to do is get your claim to cover part of something and it becomes yours and everyone else is a thief for taking it, that is lame. The root I am discussing is the one located near Community Fair. If it is not fully claimed it should be fair game. From what I read about it No one is supposed to be able to claim Common things like this, but getting punished for collecting it needs to be fixed.

Village claims can claim them. And if any part of something is on a claim it is protected by the claim. That’s how it has always worked. Just turn your criminal acts off and you wouldn’t have that problem.

It's NOT supposed to be claimable that is the point. If you are not supposed to be able to claim it, Then their is no ownership. If you claim it that is an exploit/Bug.

Village claims do. This part has never been changed. One can argue that nobody should be allowed to drop any claim over any section of it, but that just leads to funky means of laying out village claims around it and someone walling it off. At best, this is a feature request.

Simplest solution, do not have Criminal Acts turned on when you go to harvest natural resources on a Village claim. No criminal acts = no scents.

This. Villages can claim them, and that is intended.

I think there is a strong argument here that if it's not all claimed, a person shouldn't be leaving scents if they're not on a claim. That's the funky part of this report, and the only reason I didn't move it when it was originally posted.
