Leech Burns

Leech Burns are supposed be inflicted when a Leech gnaws at you when at 0 SHP or when wounds are converted by the Leeches. However I got some from a leech I acquired during foraging. Not being able to dismiss the chance that I simply had some wound that was converted, I decided to try again and incurred 22 Leech burns while having plenty of SHP and only Beesting wounds. They didn't go away. From what I can gather, one of two options is in play:

Leeches have chance to give Leech Burns even when you have SHP to spare. If this is intentional, it can be punishing to players with less resources and MHP and even cause them to die.

Leeches "try" to heal Beestings but fail, yet still inflict the Leech Burns.

How to recreate: Equip Leeches. IF that doesn't work, equip leeches when Beesting wounds are present.

Leeches can cause leech burns at any time. They can heal when you have the right wounds, but it's not a limiting factor of when you can or can't get the burns.

Note: if this is a bug, it's one that we've all likely ignored because it appears to be functioning as intended.

That actually makes sense when I think of it. I've only ever really allowed leeches to take a bite at me when I have wounds that they can heal, so whenever leech burns procced they always seemed to just convert existing wounds.

On the note, "convert" is bit misleading with this information. It's more of a "if Leech Burn procs, remove equal amount of certain wounds."

Consider moving to critique&ideas with Topic Title: "Leech Burns only when converting wounds."

Current mechnic is needed, else you could fish endlessly from a swamp that is adjacent to a river/lake (as bait would replenish for some shp only, which would likely heal faster than what the leeches inflict).

You're giving away my fishing secrets...

Problem with that is trying to find a swamp at a river or lake and has fish nearby that you actually want. And that they swapped to needing bloated leeches (compared to either state in legacy) means you're probably not going to fish forever like this. You're going to need food at some point to cover the expense of healing the leech damage.

Will do, but would like to get an official from jorb on it first. Hate to move it and then find out it actually is a bug.
